Blogmas 2017 Day 11 – Review of the Year

This year has been amazing.

I’m an extremely lucky man and I can probably count 2017 as the best year of my life. I know that’s often a phrase that is thrown around easily but I have been truly blessed, and a lot of people reading this will have contributed in some way.

Rather than go through month by month like so many other reviews of the year I just want to talk to you about a few of my highlights.

I couldn’t start anywhere else but J and I’s wedding day. The most perfect day of our lives as I married my best friend after the culmination of two and a half years of planning. We had all of our friends and family that we love so much under one roof together and the day was perfect.

That was followed by an amazing honeymoon in Mexico where we lived in luxury for two weeks and explored the beautiful country.

Before that though we endured a much greater challenge that ended in the same feeling of euphoria – we completed the Brighton Marathon. Now that was gruelling and it took a lot of hard training and sacrifice but it was worth it for that feeling we had as we crossed the line.

Through the year we’ve had so many ups and downs. We’ve explored across the country in places like Bath and Cambridge on the high side and we’ve had funerals and gone through the house buying and selling process on the low side.

Now I know what you’re thinking, buying a house is a wonderful experience. Whereas that is true it is also the most stressful thing anyone will ever do. Hopefully we will be able to start 2018 off in the perfect way by enjoying a seamless move into our new home together. Then, who knows what other exciting adventures we’ll experience.

In just over a week we’ll be going to spend the New Year in London for the first time ever so we can’t wait to see the infamous fireworks from somewhere other than the TV.

All I can say is I hope to continue to make even more memories with so many of you reading this blog, whether you’re a friend, family member or just a casual reader.
