Sainsbury's Argos
I was a copywriter for the past six years in a multi-million pound, multi-brand company, and in that time I've developed a host of new skills that I will now take forward as a freelance writer. From headline writing to product descriptions I've written so much, and always with SEO optimisation at the core of my decision-making process. While writing for the iconic catalogue and the ever-popular Christmas Gift Guide, both of which are in millions of homes across the UK, I wrote creative headlines and sub-copy, as well as page openers and buying guides. Product Descriptions
As well as writing creative text for various publications I also wrote thousands of descriptions for products online. I have written copy for own brand lines including Opti, Revere and Chad Valley and for a range of others including Men's Health and Karcher. I'm comfortable writing copy from scratch or turning tired text into something terrific.
Special Projects
Another varied part of my role included writing packaging copy for products that then appeared in Sainsbury's and Argos stores. This involved collaboration with a number of stakeholders and having a real influence on deciding what copy was used. I was also involved in the creation of a number of Tone of Voice documents including Chad Valley Designafriend, Revere and Moon & Back
