Christmas is nearly here and I for one am excited. I love most things about Christmas. The jumpers, the food, the parties and most importantly the time spent with family. I’ll come on to that in a little bit.
First I want to talk to you about the things I hate about this time of year – which really isn’t many. First of all, why the fuck does the build-up have to start so soon. I pulled my Secret Santa this year at the start of November! NOVEMBER!
My birthday is in the middle of November. The rule is that Christmas is not discussed or comprehended until at least November 16.
Seriously if it’s before December 1 then it’s verging on autumn still. The problem with a long build-up is that it detracts from the magic of Christmas and Boxing Day.
When I was a kid Christmas Day was about seeing family, being happy and eating lots of nice food. Boxing Day was about seeing grandparents and extending that feeling just a little bit longer.
Nowadays the feeling is still the same. I want to be surrounded by family, being happy and eating my body weight in pigs in blankets.
At the time of writing this I’m watching The Grinch. However, I’d like to think I’m more like Buddy the Elf.

I know what you’re thinking, you’d prefer the money. At least it’s better than socks though.
