Social media is terrible now – Blogmas Day 4
Social media is terrible.
Yes it can be a great way to get in touch/stay in touch with people but by and large it is crap. Facebook has become a place for people to share videos galore, Twitter takes far too long to navigate and Instagram is annoying now that you can’t view it in any order. Well, seeing as I’m an Android user.
I’m not saying I don’t like all of the aspects of them. I like seeing my friends being happy, or a celebrity acting like one of ‘us’, or even finding out what people are up to from time to time.
However, I don’t want to see another video of someone being ‘mean’ to their girlfriend for likes, or a photo gallery/story of ‘do you remember such and such, here’s what they look like now.’
I think the people who play ‘pranks’ on their girlfriends are just mean. They don’t deserve to have their partners if I’m honest. They need to learn a bit of god damn respect and get off my news feed.
I don’t want to see a girl being pushed down a hill, or being covered in flour, even if they know it’s coming. In those cases it’s two attention seeking idiots for the price of one.
Literally I couldn’t care any less if I tried. It’s just pointless click bait if I’m honest. I want to see cute pictures of children and pets this time of year, or trees in houses dressed up in sparkle and tinsel and tat.
There is so much good that can be done on social media. Like connecting with long lost friends or seeing pictures that I don’t remember being taken at a Christmas party.
At least Facebook has a hide button and Instagram has an unfollow button I guess.
P.S I get the irony that this post will be shared on social media, but at least it’s original.
